ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was living in Brooklyn when I painted this. I wanted to paint an angel in a subway station. I asked my friend Gabriel to model for me. I put a choir robe on him. He was embarrassed but compiled. I didn't think of it as an Annunciation painting until the painting was almost done. One will note that the woman chosen is no longer young.
