Artist Profile:Artist with broad teaching experience. Art work in acrylics, mixed media, collage. Exhibited throughout the world. The artist was born in Holland and, before immigrating to Vancouver in 1999, she lived in The Netherlands and Northern Africa. She was exposed to various art forms from an early age. Visual art has always been a part of her daily life and her career path has enabled her to fulfill her artistic passion. After receiving formal training in the European art tradition in The Netherlands and France, Jeanne began painting in series, working with acrylics, oils, encaustic techniques, printmaking and collage. Working in themes - in 2D and 3D - allows her to explore a concept and, in this way, the process of creation is by itself a journey; a voyage through ideas, composition, texture and colour. The artist's vision is to get as close as she can to the story she wants to share. Stylistically, her works are described as a mix of representational and abstract. Painting series include:Balance, 1992, Landmarks, 1997, A Travel Journal, 2001 Roots and Wings, 2003 Space, 2004 Ancient Times, Place and Time, Touched and her most recent series "Lively Lessons".
