ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I am always in awe of individuals who can sustainable grown and produce their own food. Here in Eastern Pennsylvania, people keep bees, raise chickens, and grow vegetables! (I am not one of those people.) As I interpret THE BEEKEEPER, I visually create the palette of beekeepers, with encompassing warm oranges and yellows, cool blues and greens, and striking splashes of pinks and reds. Amidst this kaleidoscope, hints of organic shapes and floral forms can be discerned, evoking a sense of nature interwoven with abstraction. My intent is that the viewer feel the essence of the garden and the hectic movement of bees.

In 1998, she secured a full-time position as Gallery Director/Arts Coordinator at Penn State, Berks County.
