About The Artwork
This painting was recently finished after a trip to the Metropolitan Museum to see Van Gough's Cypress Tree paintings. Being up close to his paintings with all the movement and energy was inspiring to me as an artist. I like to use both color and brushstroke to generate emotions for the viewer. I also like to incorporate concrete forms such as plants or recognizable flowers to bring the viewer back. I studied many Monet paintings while in New York. His love of the garden and wild nature also felt so inspiring. As a result of months of work and this trip to New York, "The Bee's Haven " was born.
