A Marilyn Monroe - Campbell's Tomato Soup pop art mash up! Features red, white, black, metallic gold, cream, blue and yellow sugar sprays, ink and acrylics as well as a textured and layered linen canvas base! I create all of my “Urban Pop” pieces with a partial textured base and in a grungy manner to replicate something of an “urban” wall type look. Layering is an integral part of all of my art, be it abstracts, Abstract Realism, Book clubs or Urban Pop. Layers give depth. Like all Pop art, my Frankos touch on “Popular Culture” and feature all kinds of things from our youths and experiences thru out life, to the things we buy, watch, love and feel. These pieces are intended to be nothing too serious..... a bit sexy sometimes, a bit naughty, a bit of fun and hopefully a few memories. They can be personalized more than any other style I work in. These pieces are created by hand and can, using acrylics, sugar sprays and often incorporate multi piece detailed stencil work. I spend A LOT of time on these!! But they take me back to my graphics roots. I LOVE my urban pop! Like my other styles, they are created on a 40mm frame wrapped in linen, with a gloss coat of varnish and gallery finished edges. I take my depth of canvas to a different level believing a canvas has 5 sides and should be painted and finished as such. Did I mention I love commissions? So, if you would like a similar piece to this one, different sizes, colours formats etc, just hit me up! I’d love to hear what you have in mind. I have been a full-time artist for 10 years now and feel blessed that I can do this wonderful thing for a job. In that time, I have now sold over 5000 pieces globally, with pieces in collections in some 30 countries...and of course most of them have been at the larger end of the scale. My spunky wife Wendy is CFO and runs a lot of the “day to days” including logistics, leaving me to answer enquiries and do that other important part.....painting! Finishing: Most of my paintings arrive ready to hang. I do recommend that the really really big ones, some of the heavier pieces and some of the specialist pieces, such as pallets be installed by a professional hanger. This is cheaper than you may think and would be in the $150 to $250 range. I have partners in most areas that I can recommend if you need help. If you would like more information, just ask away. Wendy & I want to make it as easy as possible for you. Freight and delivery: Global shipping is included in the listed prices however, if you happened to be in an extremely remote area, we may put our hand up and ask for a little bit of monetary assistance. We package the paintings securely in twin walled, reinforced, CUSTOM MADE “Franko” cartons, with additional protective inserts & of course the painting is wrapped in bubble wrap for rub protection. Wendy & I are the consummate professionals in all that we do. Our trusted freight partners are TNT, Fastway and DHL. Often with larger pieces and local deliveries, we arrange direct delivery with our own driver. Insurance: All paintings are sent fully insured. Finally, all works come with a Certificate of Authenticity and free hugs and kisses! Happy Trails! Franko

Hi there! I am something of an art addict!!! My bread and butter is producing large format abstract, urban, pop and Abstract Realism style artworks for fashionable homes and commercial projects. If I'm going to make a mess, it might as well be a big one! My studio is located out in the sticks on acreage in an area known as "The Scenic Rim", in Queensland, Australia. It is paradise. I am very happily married, and have 2 beautiful kids. In one way or another, I have spent the last 20 years with art as part of my life. Firstly in the graphics industry, and then as an artist working with a real brush, rather than a mouse. I consider myself fortunate to be able to make a living as a full time artist, and thank those clients that have supported my “habit” along the journey. There are no expectations that anyone will like or even buy my art. But I hope you will feel something, even if its "dislike". When I step away from the abstract side, and onto the often considered "Evil" or commercial side of art within pop culture, I like to think that my layering brings a new edge to things. Simply put, I paint what I like to have hanging in my home. If others share that same "like"....Cool! Welcome aboard! I always look for BALANCE in the design of my art, with analytical structure (really I mean chaos!!) and I normally paint with lots of texture. I also LOVE color. Depending on my moods and inspirations, the outcome could be of a realistic nature, or totally abstract. Some of it will be naughty, and some simply designed to try and bring about a smile. I've learnt not to take life too seriously as no one gets out alive. Like mashed and remixed tunes and movies with borrowed concepts and effects, all artists (even most of the masters) have influences and borrow aspects from other artists. It might be as simple as a color scheme, subject matter or the way a medium is used or a re-purposed image. The concept of "recycling" goes further than just trash. I love pop artists like Andy Warhol and David Bromley. Old school street art such as Blek, Mis Tic and Banksy. Then there is the second part to modern street art talent such as David Walker, Smug, El Mac, C215, James Bullough to name a few. These people are geniuses in a spray can. The level of hyper realism and tonal work with a can is astounding. Book based work of artists like Raine Bedsloe (that painting in Twilight) Ekaterina Paikanova and Jon English.
