The birth of the world Painting

My paintings are created in collaboration with the Water, often using acrylic paint as watercolor, and also washing the canvas to create textures. I mostly work without previous planning or sketches, exploring a state of mind where I can freely express my impulses. So the compositions are created in an intuitive and experimental way. When the paintings are done, I look for the images and conceptual associations they bring to my mind. I see in this painting a shape that reminds me of a uterus. Because of contrast between light and dark and the movement of the elements, I associated this womb with myths about the creation of the world/universe from Yoruba cosmogony.
