About The Artwork
The boat and the sea, mixed media, acrylic, resins and glass wool. Vision of a seascape. The painting depicts a fishing boat docked in a small harbor. The Colorist represents part of the Apulian coasts, places to which he is particularly attached. The painting through brush strokes and spatulas, arouses tension and emotion. According to the Colorist, the work of art, original as a genre, classifying it only as a painting would be an understatement. Classifying it only as a sculpture would also be an understatement. As in the sculptural concepts it is a high relief on canvas. So a pictorial sculpture. The fusion of different materials, generate a unique - original! The high relief reaches 2 - 3 centimeters thick, giving the work magnificent plays of light and shadow. The natural light "captured" by the painting generates, according to the observer's positions, unique emotional sensations. The Colorist makes use of this original work "Painting - Sculpture", created by him, studied and measured to obtain effects that affect those who look at his paintings and to create that contrast between light and shadow. The sense of sculpture and color, two elements of the Colorist's painting, do not create dissonance, rather the two opposite elements complement each other, highlighting an important fact: the spectator becomes the protagonist of the painter's message. The light, pastel and delicate shades of the background change to an archaic and hard brown-black in the depths. Thus contrasting the delicacy to the strong and hard clash. The color thus takes on the final effect, no less important for this, on the contrary it completes the work. All the elements come together in a desired synthesis of, painting and sculpture.
