The Cape Painting

I entered a show titled "Take a Seat" with my first cutout. Van Gogh's chair from his painting "Bedroom at Arles". I began to explore the concept of objects as art, in which I create an image in plywood and paint it in a trompe l'oeil style. After the chair i thought about other things that typically hang on walls and I came up with a coat rack. With humor as my sidekick I envisioned the most wanted visitor to my home and what he would hang on my rack. Thus "The Cape".
