About The Artwork

Saint Peter deemed himself unworthy to be crucified in the same manner as Jesus. He asked to be crucified upside down. Many paintings depict this scene with the whole cross upside down, but the Romans wouldn't have gone to that kind of trouble, never mind the fact that it's impractical, they would have nailed him with his feet on the crossbar as I've depicted here.
