What / who inspired the work?
This painting was inspired by the Anselm Kiefer’s artworks. Many of his paintings has a very singular enigmatic aura and a great drama. Many of his works deal around of the World War II.

What do you hope viewers will feel / think?
I would like the viewers think about the anachronism that exists in this work: the encounter with a XXI century museum of contemporary art in a kind of ruins of the future. Could this painting be considered a metaphor of the apocalyptic future of our civilization?

Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style?
I chose the oil painting because it is a natural language for me. I chose the gray color to make the painting remember the World War II old photographs. I chose the expressionist style because I consider it the best way to convey the feeling of catastrophe. The image shows an imaginary structure of a building (museum) after a bombing attack.
