The Fig Tree and The Vines. Painting

Gold field, 8 applications. 4 lowest Acrylic then top 4 oil-colour mixed with stand oil and some dammar varnish of my own making. Dried between applications. A lustrous nuanced surface. Stand oil should lend flexibility, and prevent cracking to large area over years, centuries actually. Two main colours only. Three reds and three greens, mixed in an easy going ratio to height. Colours for few figs are light green over crimson. Gold imparts a thoroughly antique and completely medieval tone. Symbolism is a large subject. Picture is a self-possessed companion. Clear, quiet, nonchalant for whoever possesses it.
