About The Artwork

sunset, evening light, mountains, frost, impressionism, Canada, abstract, nature, landscape, pines, rocks, oil painting. Original oil on canvas landscape painting stretched on a wooden frame. During my travels along the North Atlantic Seaboard from Connecticut to Ontario, Canada, I was inspired to create an impressionistic etude. Rocks and pine trees over the ocean. Cloudy day in blue and grey colors. A plain air atmospheric study was finished in the studio. Impressionism. Yes, it is a Sunset and there are Mountains, and Snow Cap Mountain, and fluffy pink evening clouds. Master quality material has been used. Heavy impasto is built with brushes and pallet knives. Edges of the painting are covered with archival white linen tape for a clean contemporary look. There is no need for framing. It is ready to hang. It is signed on the back. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.

Collections of Ms. Jane Gordon in Wynnewood PA, Johnson & Johnson at Springfield PA, and Massachusetts State Hospital in Boston are some of them. " In general, my paintings are skirting the boundary line between representation and pure abstraction. Color, form, gesture, and physicality of paint - all of them are the subjects of main interest and great importance. Almost all paintings have been inspired by the landscape. Behind every abstract composition is a particular place in a particular time and in a specific atmospheric condition."
