About The Artwork

It was very interesting to see that we take it as an image without thinking about it, and that even the generation that has never heard of floppy disks can recognize the saved icon linked to the image in our brain, as if the floppy disks are still alive like ghosts! By combining the medium of the floppy disk with the unique bug screen of the NES, we mixed a typical Japanese subculture and used a retro item that evokes nostalgic memories for many people as a motif to express the fleeting nature of modern society and to capture the present that is being lost.

ArtFacts https://artfacts.net/artist/taro-yakumo/824723 Instagaram https://www.instagram.com/taroartx/ Taro Yakumo grew up in an environment where both parents were working in art-related fields, and began painting in oil and other media at an art class at an early age. He did not pursue art school, but instead turned his attention to music. Although he had nothing to do with art for a while, he has experienced the changing art scene in Japan and abroad by visiting art fairs in various countries, studying abroad in Korea, and staying in the U.S. to produce artworks. He expresses himself with a new concept by incorporating motifs of things that symbolize the contemporary society we are living in right now into his works.
