Marie-Jean-Augustin Vestris, known as Auguste Vestris (27 March 1760 – 5 December 1842), was a French dancer. He was born in Paris as the illegitimate son of Gaétan Vestris and Marie Allard (1742–1802). His father was a Florentine dancer who had joined the Paris Opéra in 1748, his mother was a French dancer in the same theatre. He was dubbed "le dieu de la danse", (the god of dance), a popular title bestowed on the leading male dancer of each generation (previous 'Gods of the Dance' included his father Gaétan and Gaétan's teacher, Louis Dupré). He made his debut at the Paris Opéra (as had his mother, Marie Allard) in the third divertissement of the pastorale La Cinquantaine (written by Desfontaines-Lavallée and set to music by Jean-Benjamin de La Borde) in 1772 and was immediately recognized for his talent. He was accepted as a regular member of the troupe in 1775, became a soloist in 1776, a "premier danseur" (principal dancer) in 1778, and finally he was appointed "premier sujet de la danse" (roughly corresponding to modern étoile) in 1780, holding this rank in the corps de ballet for the next 36 years. drawing size A3 12x16.5 in 30x42cm Mixed media art - spray paint, acrylic markers, color pencils. I am dedicated to humanism and mpresssionism in my art. I keep in mind that all of us need hope and I see art as one of the biggest sources. This idea I'm translating through a view on the real world as a beautiful place full of harmony and light. Oposite to mind based methods of contemporary arts I choose methods of watching the world by the eyes and feeligs. I suppose that we shoul back to our real feelings but not only analyse and keep rules and be trendy. This is obviously can be scare to find that we are not perfect, but also we can find that we're just people in the real world and it could make us more calm. I'm trying carefully watch the world around and put my observing on the canvas or papers, all I could feel. I choose classical methods in art because they seem to me most fit to.
