ABOUT THE ARTWORK
To be partnered with my original poem The Warden's Garden A young rabbit races down the narrow unmarked trail hidden below a singular barren oak that belies a secret jewel. Under this dusty cliff lies the warden's garden – I follow him and enter the hidden forest of hushed pine and cypress; fallen conifer needles and sharp cones lounge on the floor of his curious plot. Dappled stumps are sullied reminders of death's ubiquity – The silence is thick and I long to witness the frenzied hustle of an ant parade or the taste of hibiscus tea sliding down my corkscrewed throat. Today, the earth is a vanquished prisoner –
