ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Melvyn was working on still life paintings in his studio and found the Dahlias in a local friends greenhouse, where there were hundreds of the flowers in blooms. He picked a bunch of red blooms as the colour and texture of the flowers were striking and rich. Melvyn Placed the flowers in the striking vase where the metallic green contrasted with the soft velvet texture of the flower petals.

Melvyn studied fine art in London and went on to win a David Murray landscape scholarship from the Royal Academy of Arts.
