Bernd Obergassel, born in Dortmund/Germany 1962, started his career as a self-educated painter in 1993. From the beginning he has been working with oils to create colorful, abstract and surrealistic figures. These figures are a bit technical influenced but very emotional, so they depict a lyrical interplay of biomorphic forms. He named the figures "The ZON's". Throughout the years, he has been engaging in a variety of artistic activities like drawing, painting (also other series), making lots of objects (with electronic parts), sculptures and small installations.
