This painting is part of the “Once upon a time” series, a series of paintings that allow you to weave many stories and wonder in your mind to get to a cozy and calming place. Storytelling has always been part of humanity; it allows us to explain and process experiences. These are the rolling hills of Pueblo Edén in Uruguay. The land is plowed and ready to be sowed with seeds that will bring life, clean air and nutritious food. Green pastures invite cows and sheep to graze freely. A couple is so happy to see each other while she is planting small olive trees. He brings her a red apple since he knows what a treat they are to her. They keep planting olive trees to have plenty of olive oil for their meals and neighbors -who say their olive oil is the best in town. Two bunnies and a red fox wander through the olive grove, unseen yet by each other. Two horses run at full speed as if they remembered something important. Two black sheep decide to venture away from the flock and explore new pastures. The open sky sparks a dialogue with trees up in the horizon and the boy with the Jersey cow and a black puppy looks down into the fertile valley, suddenly realizing how beautiful the Earth is.

This painting has stretcher bars but is unframed.

Sabina found success early in her art career. When she was 6 years old, one of her drawings drew a bidding war between two art collectors. Another of her drawings was selected for the cover of a record. Before her 10th birthday she sold prints of her drawings and donated funds to Children's Hospitals. Throughout her career she focused on figurative ink drawings with intricate details. Sabina has been influenced by Henri Rousseau, Caleb Ives Bach, Marrnyula Munungurr, Mulkun Wirrpanda, and Francisco Toledo. She treasures early American folk art, Pre-columbian, Aboriginal Australian, and Native American art.
