**The Intergenerational Transmission of Ife** This piece was inspired by the timeless tradition of Adire textiles, a symbol of Nigerian cultural heritage, and the deep bonds between generations in families. The relationship between a grandmother and granddaughter is one of wisdom, love, and continuity, which I sought to highlight through their mirrored gestures—both caressing one another’s face. This tender interaction is a tribute to the transmission of knowledge, values, and care from one generation to the next. The Adire cloth in the background symbolizes the cultural and familial fabric that holds these connections together, its subtle browns and indigo blues representing both the richness and humility of this tradition. I hope that viewers will feel the warmth and depth of the familial bond portrayed in the painting. I want them to reflect on their own connections with family and the importance of passing on traditions, wisdom, and love to the next generation. The soft, caring interaction between the two figures should evoke feelings of nostalgia, reverence, and a sense of continuity—an appreciation for the ties that bind us across time. I chose a grayscale palette for the figures to emphasize their emotions and the bond they share, bringing their relationship to the forefront without distractions. The contrast between the grayscale figures and the colored Adire background elevates the cultural context of the scene. Adire patterns are rich in history and meaning, and by integrating them subtly, I aimed to evoke the spirit of tradition without overpowering the intimate moment between the figures. The combination of figurative art and textile symbolism ties together the personal and cultural narrative, blending the human and the heritage in a unified expression of intergenerational love and legacy.

Listed in AKOUN database In recent years, my primary artistic focus has centered on cultivating a fresh and contemporary style. Concurrently, I've been on a journey to identify a theme that can give rise to a distinct artistic voice. This exploration has led to the creation of the 'Portraits of Life' series, inspired by authentic stories. Through my artwork, I aim to illuminate the existence of marginalized individuals, particularly children. I seek to convey the authenticity of their reality while granting them an expressive identity. My ultimate goal is to evoke an emotional response from viewers, allowing them to navigate their own feelings without imposing preconceived notions. Currently residing in France. My artwork can be found in private collections world wide.
