About The Artwork
There’s a jetty at the end of Goat Rock Beach in northern California where the Russian River meets the sea on the north side of the jetty. The river flows out while the waves from the open ocean roll in. Lots of seabirds, pelicans and seagulls. It’s frequently foggy especially when the marine layer of clouds drifts in around dusk. I wanted to give the painting a foggy, slightly pensive feel.
