The Lady and the Tiger Painting

This is lyrical painting that illustrates the story of the lady and the tiger. In the story, a roman gladiator, on the cusp of his last battle before winning his freedom is told that his challenge is to choose a door. Behind one is the emperor´s daughter, behind the other is a hungry tiger. Which door he chose is not part of the story. The allegory is about making choices, even though the outcome is often unclear. I imagined the lady and the tiger waiting in the greenroom together before the big moment. I wanted to piece to have an old-fashioned, old-world feeling, like some exotic place and time that doesn´t exist anymore.
