About The Artwork
This painting, which I first conceived in 2008, is about the feelings of anonymity and alienation I often feel from living in the city. The work is slightly imposing and purposely mysterious. The meaning of who the figures beneath the drapery are remains subject to the viewer's interpretation. The cityscape is centered on the location of my art studio, but seen from far away.
