ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting, like other from the artist, is made up of layers of paint and translucent glue on a Masonite board. The Living from the Dead shows the dual nature of reality: Day and night, sun and moon, life and death. Based on a verse of the Quran: "You cause the night to pass into the day and You cause the day to pass into the night; You draw the living from the dead and You draw the dead from the living; and You provide sustenance for anyone You wish without measure." (Chapter 3 - Verse 27)
