"The Long Season II" Painting

I’m Idy Harrison, a Nigerian artist exploring everyday life and the human condition through drawing and painting.

Working primarily with charcoal and graphite pencils, as well as acrylic and oil paints, I am drawn to the expressive possibilities of line, tone, and texture. These mediums allow me to translate thought and emotion into form, capturing moments that reflect both individual experience and shared realities. My creative process is intuitive and reflective, shaped by everyday encounters and social dynamics.

I view art as a space for dialogue and exploration, an opportunity to examine life as it unfolds and to give form to ideas that often remain unspoken. Through my work, I aim to provoke thought and foster connection, inviting viewers to engage with the stories and emotions embedded within each piece.

My practice is deeply influenced by lived experiences and social observation, drawing inspiration from the environments and people around me. Each artwork is created with intention, offering viewers the freedom to interpret and connect on a personal level.
