In my painting "The Messenger", we see a female in nature, but lifted just above it, seated in the sky so to speak. To listen, to hear beyond the physical one must be grounded. And yet too grounded is not accurate either. To strike the balance therein. The idea maybe to have ones feet securely planted on the ground while the head is in the sky. In other words to activate the stretch is to be the stretch of consciousness. In our seasoned mature self the opportunity presents itself to draw up knowledge from the past as we see the female in the painting carrying paper scrolls under her arm. In her other hand she has a modern day tool, that of a electronic device, a ipod with headset. Clearly tools of the day. Being able to draw upon that which one has been is powerful especially to use in a positive way in the now. Who is she listening too? The invisible. The Unseen. To become a vehicle for Spirit one must listen and be able to hear the Unseen. I wanted to make a painting reflecting what is possible for all of us. We all have the opportunity to become the messenger in our own right and indeed we are capable of this. By relaxing our minds where thoughts can roam, we learn to listen, to hear, to sense. I choose a female to represent consciousness as a whole. I chose to paint a landscape environment another form of feminine energy. For when are all embrace the divine feminine, no matter what our gender, we can hear from beyond. We will know how to ground the message and in that way act as messengers between one another and serve humanity. It is such as gift to clearly see what we are capable of. I hope my painting stimulates memory within each that view my art that indeed the messenger lives within us all.

I am a magical realism oil painter with a focus on figures, hybrids, whimsical and the metaphysical. My focus is “life as it is and life of the imagination”. As stated by Carl Jung, your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside awakes. Sheryl Ann Noday is a artist born in Southern California where she obtained her first degree in fine art, with a focus in photography from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. She went on to become LA's first female assistant working with the distinguished Matthew Rolston. She soon opened her photography studio on Hollywood & Vine. Her photography has been published worldwide with recognition in Brazil, Germany, England, Paris, holding 7 Key Art Awards, and numerous magazine / album covers. From early on in life, Sheryl has had a passion for the mystical and a unwavering commitment to spirituality. She has deep understanding of metaphysical research, the subconscious, healing and universal communications. With an overwhelming desire to paint, a location move to Chicago, Sheryl embraced a life long dream to studying painting at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Historic Palette & Chisel. Sheryl has participated in over 60 juried group exhibitions. Her paintings have been featured on book covers and magazines with collectors throughout the US and abroad. She has appeared on several guest radio shows illuminating visionary art. Sheryl's art has been twice juried by James Rondeau, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago. She has been featured in galleries and publications globally with a newly released short film, "The Voices of Crystal Skull Consciousness". I am inspired by life itself. In all of its forms, diversities. I see myself as a painter/journalist who makes visual commentary on social and spiritual ideas channeled to humanity and the impact this on people in the 21st century.
