About The Artwork
The Mig Welder is a real life working hero in industry. I wanted to depict an everyday person that plays an important role in the industrial workplace. The painting is in oils on a 3 mm steel plate that has been shot blasted and primed prior to the oil paint. It is frameless and stands proud of the wall by 50mm. I decided to use the steel from the factory as my canvas to portray the welder at work.

Marshall paints a wide variety of art mainly on canvas in acrylic and oils. Although having lived around the Mediterranean for many years is now settled in the UK and paints from his studio in Hereford. His love for drawing started from his school years but did not take up painting until later. His memories of living in Spain and the Greek islands has tempted him to paint a number of seascapes but also enjoys traditional and abstract work. Marshall likes to try his hand at different methods of applying paints and loves observing different techniques of other artists.
