Marco Domeniconi is a visual artist originally from Italy and now based in New York City. Before fully embracing his artistic path, he earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and worked as a research scientist and professor at CUNY and NYU. It was in the dynamic atmosphere of these academic institutions that his creative impulse began to take shape. Marco studied digital and large-format photography at the International Center of Photography, as well as drawing and painting at the New York Academy of Art. His work spans a range of media and styles—from moody, spontaneous black-and-white photography to vibrant, expressive abstractions. Whether painting or photographing, he explores the tension between intentional gestures and unforeseen outcomes. His work has been featured in private showcases and exhibited both in the United States and internationally.
