The Overtaking Painting

The work is inspired by people who are over worked and underappreciated. When looking at this painting you can see that the subject on the far left is being overwhelmed by people touching, pulling, shouting demands to the point where it all becomes just one tone of screaming. The subject is looking out towards the blue skies that are clear but behind him where no one else can see or hear is his thoughts. The demand that men must face daily to perform and support those around him can start to feel like he is being overtaken. He looks tired, exhausted, worn out in a blue sunny beautiful day. how much more can he takes before it's too much. I chose the subject matter because I too face anxiety that overwhelms and pulls me down but the men in my life have helped me back up even when they themselves feel like they are drowning. I can see it in their eyes, dull and dark circles pulling their faces into a permanent frown. Signature will be included on the bottom right of the painting. Signed Elizabeth B.
