ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The two large-format works "The Park" on sculptured canvas from 2017 are groundbreaking for Christoph Robausch's later works made of deformed aluminum. "The Park - Early Noon" and "The Park - Early Morning" have exactly the same size (166x122x5 cm), the same painting technique and the same sculptural qualities. The canvas is painted with a mixture of oil paint, resin, wax, rust, and Indian ink and transformed into an organic three-dimensional form by folding, overlapping and overlapping. Permanently and stiffly glued to the massive rectangular wooden picture carrier, they provide unusual insights, perspectives, views into a diverse cosmos that houses gardens and parks. The drama of this landscape and the shadow cast changes again and again with the incidence of light and the respective point of view of the park visitor.

Robausch's wall-objects and freestanding sculptures are built with manually formed aluminum. Every single step in the creative process are made by hand which gives his artworks timeless depth and a unique appeal. Most of his sculptures have a lightweight, stable supporting core enclosed by an aluminum shell. The aluminum surface of his new artworks is painted with iron pigments and is encouraged to rust. Robausch stands outside of the traditional art business. He prefers to explore how to transform the energy and mood of his physical artworks into short digital animations. His specially developed scripts unlock open spaces and times for his art.
