About The Artwork

Introducing "The Right of Spring," an abstract painting that brings to life the joy and vibrancy of pink and purple flowers. The canvas depicts a shrub adorned with these enchanting blooms, their long and leafy stems dancing in an orderly yet whimsical manner. Against a backdrop of turquoise and green, the painting takes on a hint of abstraction, adding to the magical allure of the scene. The colours blend and intertwine, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the playful beauty of this garden oasis. "The Right of Spring" invites you to embrace the whimsy and liveliness of nature, as the harmonious chaos of the flowers against the abstract background invites contemplation and sparks the imagination. Step into this delightful world and let the colours and shapes transport you to a place of joy and tranquility.

Adopting a fluid approach that remains unbounded by style or form, Ali Hammoud’s works are a frequent reflection of the multifaceted artistic tuition he acquired in his formative years. Introduced to art at a young age by local enthusiasts in his neighbourhood in Beirut, he joined an academy of fine arts at 17 years of age, learning an assembly of artistic disciplines and technical competencies. At the commencement of the Lebanese Civil War in 1975, he relocated to the UK and studied at the Dunstable College of Art, spending four additional years training simultaneously in graphic design, advertising and visual art. Striving to create works that are equally as enduring, as they are deeply symbolic and highly introspective, Ali’s renderings are typically a direct consequence of his external conditions, changes to his primary perceptions and phases of his inner landscape. Influenced by his own early mark making on the canvas, these formations habitually lead to abstract configurations, that regularly integrate contemporary, figurative and surreal qualities. Less perturbed by the typical characteristics associated with aesthetic beauty, his creative works are primarily concerned with raising relevant questions and seeking the most candid of responses. Exhibiting since the early 1970s, Ali Hammoud’s works have appeared in group and solo settings, both in the United Kingdom and the Middle East, and are currently made available for online purchase via Saatchi Art. His art is presently featured in private collections throughout England, the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Lebanon and Kuwait.
