ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Turmeric and Vermillion are two sacred ingredients of Hindu prayers. They are both worn on the forehead at the start of any Hindu ritual. Turmeric is also known for its medicinal properties. It can heal wounds, helps one recover from cold & cough, provides warmth to the body etc. Vermillion, on the other hand, is applied by married Hindu women, in the parting on their hair. This artwork is my tribute to my Indian culture!
