'The Sea and It's Pearls' (2020 Collection) Painting

Created with oil paints and gel mediums, this painting consists of layers of genuine 22k Gold Leaf on textured canvas and Sterling Silver Leaf ink. Inspired by the tumultuous beauty of the land and sea, this painting rests on the spread of the ocean, fitting snugly into the curving bays, meeting the land like a fitted carpet of blue. The abstract perspective is partly a map, partly a relief- the land is wavy with mountains- but mainly a vision of how the sea covered world blends with the landscape of God's creations. Combined with the words of the Holy Quran, this painting is not a mere landscape, it represents a Sea of Faith. Written within a gold halo, resembling a pearl, are the words: فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا Fa Inna ma'al 'usri yusra Verily, with hardship comes ease - Surah Ash-Sharh (The Relief) [94:6] Written on the bottom of this painting, is the dua of Hazrat Yunus; لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّيْ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ la ilaha illa anta subhanaka inneekuntu mina aththalimeen And he called out within the darknesses, “There is no deity except You; exalted are You.
