About The Artwork

For me, this type of landscape painting is the most recent. It was drawn as an extension of the previous work titled Red Clouds. Of course, as with any other piece of work, I start with only the vaguest of my most private experiences and imaginations. Anything more than that, if even I don't find some kind of surprise when I'm drawing it, it's not mine. The red cloud scene really has a lot of story to tell and can be divided into several scenes. In this picture, I imagined the time after experiencing an event. Just as I am quiet when I work, that silence has led this painting one step further into a more profound and enjoyable world. This painting was created as if it were a reproduction from natural, accidental, bold brush strokes without trying to reproduce anything. If you look at it up close, it's just a trace of bold brushstrokes, but if you look at it from a distance, it looks like it's a reproduction of something. This painting has excellent color development by stacking oil paints one by one, drying them, and then coloring them several times.

" Colors produce the most beautiful when I most honestly reveal emotions. " I am a painter based in Seoul. The structural observation of Mother Nature through curves and primal forces is a visual element connected to musical composition techniques. I was strongly attracted to musical composition techniques, especially serialism, and at the point when I tried to use the musical forms of Messiaen and Schinberg in paintings, the perspective of representation in my paintings from looking at real objects had already changed significantly. My view of art is completely connected to Greek and Roman art and oriental calligraphy, blank space aesthetic conditions. Henri Matisse(1869-1954) still plays a guiding role in my paintings. decoration is pursued within two-dimensional synthesis. This is because I am a person who pursues purity in life. That is when I am happiest. The ultimate reason for drawing is to think deeply about how and to what extent I should act within the triangle of human will and freedom.
