The story behind this piece of art is very interesting. I had my Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test scheduled on November 13, 2022. On 2nd or 3rd of November my college teacher called me and told me about the Intercollegiate Art Competition for Iqbal Day. I told her that I couldn't participate as I have my MDCAT in less than 2 weeks, but somehow, she convinced me to spare 3 hours for the Competition to participate as a representative of Punjab College. The first round was on 4th November, and I secured First Position Alhamdulillah. I asked the teachers that I wouldn't be able to participate in the second round as I had to prepare for my test, but again they convinced me to spare 4 hours for the College (it definitely took more than 4 hours. i went at 8 and came became free at 4) The Second round was on 7th November, and I painted this piece of art on 7th. I didn't secure any position All I cared at that point was that I wasted a whole day for nothing. Anyway, they asked us to receive participation certificates on 9th, which i never got, not even for the first round i won. Another day wasted. Anyway, all of it now remains just a memory with 2 pieces of art i created, this one being one of them. So, this artwork reminds me of all the uncertainty and anxiety I had in those days with MDCAT being this close. None of that matters now because right now, i am sitting in UHS" top Medical College Alhamdulillah. other than all of the backstory, in this painting I wrote the verse of Allama Iqbal which means "Iqbal doesn't despair his barren land, if it becomes a little moist, it's very fertile, o Cupbearer!" I put made it colorful to show the colors of flowers which grown on a fertile land. This painting is a reminder for the Muslims of their lost power. If they got a small spark, they could ignite as fire and not only become powerful, but also united to achieve their common goals, to bring peace to the world.

Minahil Adeel, 20-year-old self-taught artist, born in Gujranwala. Ever since I was a kid, I showed inclination towards art. When I was little, I was not as bright as my classmates in studies, and the lecture of Arts was an escape for me. Ever since, I developed a hobby of drawing and painting small things, and then I started collecting them in a file. A real change happened when I bought a sketchbook and, by grace of Allah, I improved a lot. Then I decided to try canvases, and it proved to be an even better decision. Anyway, I am a university student now and art still works like magic for me, a real escape from my hectic routine <3
