I paint places where I want to be - Overflowing with Happiness, Color, and Light, these works have spiritual undertones that exhibit kaleidoscopic altars to la dolce vita - if we only look at life through rose colored glasses.

I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. I received a psychology degree at Mount St Mary’s College, then attended Maryland Institute of Art and received a degree in Interior Design. I thoroughly enjoyed this part of my life, working for prestigious design firms doing commercial and residential in Baltimore and Florida. As a licensed interior designer, I started my own design firm, Charissa Seipp Interiors and Associates in Houston, Texas in 1990. I moved to the Los Angeles area in 2011. My intention is to create works that overflow with Happiness, Color, and Light by depicting sumptuous fabric, florals, and intimate tablescapes that refresh the spirit of the viewer. I want my artwork to make people happy, make them smile and feel welcomed to the world I paint. I feel I bring a unique perspective of design awareness from my education from the Maryland Institute College of Art and my successful career as interior designer. My psychology degree from Mount St. Mary's University, helps me engage the deeper needs of the human psyche through painting. I feel, and express through my art, a unique perspective and a spiritual meaning behind the apparent. Walking along a pathway can be much more than simply the act of walking. My art reveals spiritual undertones that exhibit kaleidoscopic altars to la dolce vita - if we only look at life through rose colored glasses. I work in both acrylic and oil paints - with brushes, palette knives, and impasto to explore composition, interesting shapes, and different lighting in life, nature, and architectural scenes. I was recently featured in VoyageLA -
