The Sun Still Rises I Painting

I am a self-taught intuitive artist and healer. I studied Asian Medicine, Martial Arts and Meditation for over 25 years before making the transition into full-time visual artist. Much like the healing practices I am drawn to, my pieces emerge from finding harmony and balance within the polarities of Yin and Yang. My paintings are abstract representations of my work as a healer. Self-cultivation and self-exploration are major catalysts for my artistic practice. As a synesthete, my intuitive choices are intended to convey the full spectrum of feelings, tastes, and sounds that surface when I channel. My obsession with colors and texture is my humble attempt to translate the inner energies, visions, and sounds I experience when I am “in the flow”. Painting is a meditative and transformative process that helps me bring the unseen into the seen material world. Layers are integral to my art process. I intuitively draw forms, scribble channeled messages and blessings on the canvas before painting. Movements, colors, and marks are channeled in present time. Much like the healing process, ego has no place. I am a channel of energetic flow and I allow the painting to show me what It wants to become. Beauty emerges when energies settle and become balanced. My colors and style evolve as my inner and collective landscapes evolve.
