The Travellers Painting

"Through mountain passes thick with snow Where blizzards whirl and ice winds blow What impulse drives a maiden fair With forest beast and sprite of air? What quest of horror or delight calls forth such travellers to these heights?" This is a fantasy painting, though I prefer to think of that as Imaginative Realism. The theme is a lifelong fascination of mine with the idea of the feminine force and a bonding affinity with wild animals. There is a mystery here and the short poem above is for the viewer to ponder and decide the answer! The painting itself is soft and gentle in feel and very calming in a space. It appeared on the cover of "Orbit" international poetry magazine in 2018 and I have only recently decided to part with this one as it's been a favourite of mine. The tiger is from my own photos taken at Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden in Las Vegas. He had a rather dopey personality - in a cute way - and that is part of the story I envisage here too! The Painting is on a three dimensional canvas with the edges painted all around, therefore it does not need framing. It can however be easily framed if you wish.
