Painting: Oil on Paper.
This is a humorous composition which at first glance is a self-portrait of the artist literary with oil paint dripping from her mouth and tongue (art will eat itself?).
As often it has a deeper meaning with the artist trying to exorcise her demons as childhood neglect have left her with severe issues with her jaw and teeth. She is reclaiming her mouth as a site of playfulness and sensuality alongside the pain and worries that come alongside the health issues that she regularly faces
Please note that the work is on canvas paper which replicates the texture of loose canvas.
