ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by Lucian Freud's 1937 sculpture entitled 'Three legged horse'. Lucian's father, my grandfather, Ernst used this sandstone sculpture which my father made at age 15 to help further Lucian's tuition in art. For me, the missing leg represents the privileges our parents may have taken for granted (or as adolescents been resentful of!) which may not be available to and will perhaps be sorely missed by their offspring.
