"The pagan alter" Painting

When I was a young man I became enthralled by Picasso and other artists work with African artifacts, including masks and other ritualistic elements. I have developed- over the years - a fondness for so much indigenous art and artifacts and I regularly view it when I get the opportunity. My native Australia alone, has so much wonderful first nation peoples art. This painting partly depicts my wonder and satisfaction with the rich texture, colour variation,both subtle and dramatic that one can find in so much of this wonderful art around the world.
