All of my pictures are created intuitively, which means I don't have a concrete idea that I use as a guide, nor a template or anything similar. I start a picture and decide after every further step how to go on . However, I have to say that my pictures often remind me of impressions of nature and faded or decomposed surfaces of old buildings, streets, etc. I allways use different tools to apply the colours. So brush, spatula, fingers etc. Most of the pictures were created in different layers. I love colorful pictures, but I also like very reduced paintings. I paint on a cardboard specifically designed for acrylic painting. It is acid-free, colorfast and very resistant to light and aging. The pictures look very nice with a narrow white or gray frame. Without glazing.

Peter Kilb is a contemporary German artist whose path into the world of painting followed a successful career spanning over 20 years as a fashion and portrait photographer. His transition from photography to painting began with experiments in abstract acrylics, driven by his ongoing fascination with images and creativity. During his career as a photographer, Kilb took part in various creative photo projects in which he used different materials and digital processing. His long-standing interest in visual art dates back to his childhood, when he enjoyed visiting museums and exhibitions. The lively art scene in Hamburg and Berlin had a significant influence on his creative development. Kilb's artistic process is characterized by a love of experimentation and constant change. He often lets his paintings sit for days and works on several pieces at the same time until he considers them finished. This method allows him to refine and perfect each work of art over time. Nature serves as a great source of inspiration for Kilb. He finds the elements of water, clouds and the textures of old buildings particularly attractive. These natural and urban landscapes shape the themes and moods of his paintings. Color plays a central role in Kilb's work and embodies life and energy. He believes that every color and color combination has its own meaning and power. With his vibrant palette, he aims to convey strength and vitality and hopes to fill his audience with the same sense of energy and passion that he experiences in his creative process.
