ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Beautiful abstract painting on canvas that can be hung directly onto the wall. The orange streak that dances across this painting alludes to the natural world. Using spray paint to create movement and momentum, the orange area alludes to murmurations of birds, or a branch of orange blossoms This painting hovers delicately between the natural and organic, and the manmade and architectural. The pale area is comprised of delicately drawn pencil lines that support and hold the painting. It is the perfect balance of contemporary and modern. It is romantic without being sentimental.

Ele Pack

United Kingdom

Ele Pack received her degree from Loughborough College of Art. She now lives and works in the beautiful Peak District, in the UK. She has work in private collections in Canada, the US, Japan and Europe. She has exhibited her paintings both nationally, and internationally. Her work has been exhibited by various UK galleries, and overseas in Germany, Sweden and the US. "I believe that visual language has a potent power, like music or literature. And it has the power to lift, communicate and transform. Using pattern and mark to create rhythm, I use a range of materials; paint, pencil, fabric, collage, metallics, and build up my paintings in a very organic way. I overlay layers of paint, mark and collage to build up the pictorial space. This creates glimpses, hidden spaces, things half_ shown, suggested. I use delicate layers of texture, drawing and colour to create an ambiguous space. The image is then worked and re_worked until the image is “found”. Only when a balance and integration is achieved I feel that the painting is finished. I like to think of them as “visual poems”. This sensual world is one to be absorbed, felt, and enjoyed. "
