There and Back Painting

Coming off the heels of making Eternity, (an amazing modern poured piece, btw) I found myself enthralled with the whole black, white and gold color scheme. I mean seriously – it’s so chic, am I right? And having done a poured painting with those colors, I knew it was time to try a different technique using that palette. So I grabbed a similar canvas as the one used for Eternity, poured a little of each color on, and scraped it across. You’d think it would come out on the first try, but it didn’t. It actually took three passes before I got it to look the way it does now, but hey – those colors are solid and bold. One thing I like about this piece is the small amount of gold that kind of accentuates the piece but does make you drown in it. I love monochrome pieces, so to have this one be mostly black and white with a little bit of gold on top was great. I’m certainly pleased with it (and I hope you will be too). What a Pair Whilst this piece and Eternity aren’t exactly a pair, they are the same size and use the same colors. So if it hasn’t been sold yet, consider picking them both up to compliment different ends of the same room or opposite ends of the house to tie it together. This piece can easily be hung with two small screws or nails, and can be hung from the outer frame or the cross bar (I have found this to be the more study way to do it).
