Three Palms Painting

After leaving the tropics in 2005 for Sydney many images have stayed with me from my time spent in Far North Queensland. On the morning I drove away, passing the coconut grove at Thala, an early morning golden light was beaming through the grove in a pink & golden light. This idea for a painting was created many times over since leaving. In Three Palm Dream I have applied many layers of pure crushed raw pigment, mixed to a wet wash in an attempt to give a dream-like effect​ of my memory of the lovely light witnessed as a drove away from FNQ that morning.
