This piece is created on canvas, using acrylics. It is difficult to see in a photograph. But the background of the painting is highly layered and textured yet flat in comparison the the main subject which draws the eye to focus on the subject. I like to create paintings that come alive and this piece is a prime example. Titled 'Tiger Lilly' the painting was inspired by my interest in cats and their personalities. As a tiger she is known to be a majestic predator yet under that grandeur she has this beauty that empathises with the nature of life. You will see the butterfly on her paw whilst a tiny ladybird sits on her claw. These represent her soul and her guidance. You can almost feel them communicating with each other, there is sense of loving kindness in which they speak. Lilly peers over the flowers softly looking at them almost as if they are her own children. I think this piece underpins human life as well, the shells of our existence, both externally and internally. As is often the case, I painted the background to a piece of classical music. I like to keep the title and composer of the particular piece to myself, but it is surprising how often my clients ) many of whom are distinguished and famous musical artists) pick up the musical influence in each individual piece. The background is dark yet has flashes of colour that cascade behind the image. This represents the flickers of light and hope which I hope ee all share in these times of darkness and, for many, despair. This piece to me has a sense of beauty, its tone and texture are vibrant and yet calming and bring a sense of peace to the viewer.

I never really know what to write, or even how to talk about myself especially when it comes to ones own topic. So I will keep this brief. I am a UK-based artist who earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Communication from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia in 1998. I travelled a lot, lived in Australia , which was my home for 7 years. Moved back to the UK and subsequently moved around the Southcoast area such as Brighton, Lymington, Southampton, Isle of Wight until settling back to Bournemouth. I became a Teacher in 2002, and taught Design and Art at Brockenhurst College for 6 years. In 2016 I went to college and studied counselling and received a diploma in art therapy. During my training, I had a small business in Pokedown for three years, in which I sold and exhibited Art, made coffees and sold Vintage clothing with my dear friend Rob. This is where I started my Art therapy workshops for several charities and non profit organisations., such as B'EAT, BCHA, Richmond Fellowship, Rise and so on. I have been fortunate to have exhibited work in locations across UK , including Brighton where I lived for several years, Bournemouth and London, I also exhibited my work at Brush Gallery in Singapore. Over the years I have sold many works to collectors around the world. One particular piece is owned by a well-known figure from the band The Jam. I was fortunate to have also worked on several commissioned works for branding US reality shows such as Gas Monkey, and Orange County Choppers. I have also worked with record labels such as Azuli records and generated album covers for Space Ibiza. In the last few years I have been primarily focusing on painting and exploring my own creative techniques. Playing on the quirky and whimsical narrative and utilising my intuition when it comes to creating my pieces. I do not like to limit my style, but rather I see it as a journey of self-expression. I love combining textures and blending vivid colours together, and most of the time I have no idea where the final piece will take me, I just tend to carry on till I say 'It's Done..' Once again Thank you for visiting my Saatchi Studio. . I am available for commissions, exhibitions and purchases. If you want to ask me anything please use the contact page. I will be happy to discuss anything ( well not anything ) you understand what I mean ..
