ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is not flat. The sides are crafted in the round to raise out the surface of the canvas. The unique shape of the surface is gradually round and transitions to all edges. The paint was applied very wet, and allowed to find its way to the low spot, creating a one of a kind paint effect. The layers of paint can be seen and the actual paint shed becomes central to the work. Dramatic shadows are possible with spot lighting, and this painting is quite striking.
