Cara’s work, and posture as a painter and an artist, arise from a singular encounter: the use of organic matters both linked to nature and to ancient Asia.
Paper and canvas are tinted like the Chinese artists used to, not with tea, but with coffee (the contemporary What’else!). The resin constituting, with the slate pigment, the pictorial matter is essentially made from Soja. And the ink Cara uses comes from a traditional Japanese method that endows it with exceptional depth and great preciosity.
