ABOUT THE ARTWORK
AVAILABLE AS A COMMISSION. This work is from an exhibition I had in 2015 titled Fieldtapes from Mound City. This body of work focused on symbols culled from ancient folk traditions, graphic arts and street art. This piece was created on a beveled panel so object appears to float, as well as, radiate a yellow aura as the bevel is painted in florescent yellow. Worked with multiple rounds makes for surface interest and a light filled luminescence. Other works from this series have been exhibited at the Elmhurst Museum of Art, The Evansville Museum of Art and the St. Louis University Museum of Art.

Alicia LaChance

Alicia LaChance is a full time painter based out of St. Louis, Missouri. She is represented by galleries across the Untied Sates. Recently, her painting, New Village, was reinterpreted as a 27' terrazzo floor public art installation at St. Louis International Airport. This work was also highlighted in the Wall Street Journal. Her paintings were selected by Julie Rodriguez Widholm, the Pamela Alper Associate Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, for the 2011 Midwest edition of New American Paintings. Most recently, she has been commissioned to create original artworks for Roman & Williams for a project at the CAA. The artist is proud to be working with a design team recently ranked by Architectural Digest as one of the top 100 design firms in the world. Her artwork is in collections throughout the US and abroad. LaChance is also co-founder of Hoffman LaChance Contemporary, a community based exhibition space that focuses on the exchange between regional artist and curators.
