Art Description

Painting: Acrylic and Marker on Wood and Canvas.

I wanted to tell the story of an Aboriginal women trying to maintain a foot in her traditions whilst living in a modern world. I made all my frames for this series. It's the first time I had painted on ply and made my own frames.
In the painting the floating symbols represents woman in aboriginal culture. She is floating in a world with her traditions flowing underneath her, But she is in a modern landscape. The floating represents how she is not fully grounded in either one.
