Trajan's Column Rome Italy Painting

Trajan's Column was build to clebrate Trajans conquering the Dacians (now the Romanians) It is in the very heart of Rome and the most urban spot imaginable. The Roman Forum is on the right and the Piazza Venezia on the left. Right at this spot, the Caesars lived, Napoleon's family retired to, Mussolini ranted from a balcony, all of the Popes pass when they are crowned. This is the center of the most civilized spot in Europe, and I got to live here. Susan and I have lived for months in Rome and written a guidebook to the city. We spend our days wandering around neighborhoods.I like loosely painted cityscapes and landscapes and the effects of light and weather. I hope that you can feel the excitement of the city and the joy of being a Roman, if only for a while.
